Tour of Archives Thursday Sept 20th.
The following link has travel arrangements, how you can prepare for the visit to get the most out of it, and booking details (to Frances by Friday 14th please)
Our July meeting was an introduction to the shipping records able to be found at the National Archives.
Heidi Kuglen gave an excellent overview of what you can, and cannot, be found in their collections on this topic.
As these have been digitized in conjunction with Family Search, they can now be found online – but are not yet fully indexed.
Links to the Archives research guides, the online collection of shipping records, and how to help with the indexing of the latter have been placed on the Links > New Zealand page under the Governmental archives section.
Genealogy’s Great – Pass it On
Our next meeting is:
Tuesday 24 July 2012
Kapiti Community Centre 7pm
Guest Speaker: Heidi Kuglen, Archives NZ
Heidi will speak about Passenger Lists and the Digitisation Project recently completed in conjunction with Family Search of Utah.
