The New Zealand Society of Genealogists (NZSG) is our parent body.
Kapiti Genealogy is formally the Kapiti Branch of the NZSG but operates independently.
It is a member’s individual choice whether or not they belong to both this branch AND also belong to NZSG.

NZSG Rules:

Our governing body, the New Zealand Society of Genealogists, underwent a major revision of its rules in 2015 resulting in  revised rules registered as at Feb 2017 with subsequent minor amendments to present day (Apr 2020).
At the time, as  a Branch of the NZSG we did not have rules of our own, so were governed by the NZSG rules.
Details are available to NZSG members  from their website, but as the rules impact all of our membership, not only those belonging to NZSG a copy is included here.

Please log in to access the documents.
Included in these rules are those for Branch Extraordinary General Meetings (Section 12.6), and the Disposal of Assets (Section 12.12) should a branch cease to exist.
