Wellington Branch has a visiting Scottish speaker arranged for Wednesday 16 January to which we would like to extend an invitation for any of your members and friends to attend.
We are very pleased to welcome Iain Watson from the University of Edinburgh who has made himself available to speak to us.
Iain is a PhD student at the University of Edinburgh, holds a Masters in Diaspora and Migration History and is a beneficiary of the Scottish Government PhD Studentship in Scottish Diaspora Studies and works with the Scottish Centre for Diaspora Studies.  Iain will speak on “The origins of Highlandism, the rehabilitation of Highland culture after 1745, and the development of modern Highlandism and its impact on the Scots Diaspora and Scotland”.
Meeting is to be held at Connolly Hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday 16th January (a week earlier than our usual meeting night).
A $2 door charge will apply for all non Wellington Branch members.
We hope you will be able to join us to hear this interesting speaker.
