Paraparaumu Library meeting room (to right of main entrance through the Artspace)
Wifi available, bring plug box if you need to connect to power.
For users, or intending users, of the main online trees and the software for your computer that is designed to work with them (or independently):
Ancestry online trees – free, subscription required to view source collections
and / or the software that can be used in conjunction FamilyTreeMaker (runs on Windows or Mac, no trial version available)
MyHeritage online trees – free (up to 250 people), subscription required for larger trees and source collections
and / or the companion FamilyTreeBuilder (free software runs on Windows or Mac)
WikiTree – online collaborative tree, free
FamilySearch online collaborative tree, free
Two sessions likely, one of which will include the software that can fully interface with it
ie RootsMagic – runs on Windows or Mac
and Legacy – Windows only, but will run on Mac under a virtual machine
Both have free versions of their software you can try, and keep using, with a cost to upgrade to the full feature set.
Many of the above online trees also have apps for your mobile device.
