We are always interested in hearing from anyone willing to help keep the Branch running smoothly.
Download and complete the appropriate Nomination slip* to send to the Secretary, or bring to the AGM on Tuesday the 22nd May 2018.
* two forms available depending on the position being nominated.
All nominees must be financial members of Kapiti Genealogy aka Kapiti Branch of the New Zealand Society of Genealogists.
Officer positions, ie Convenor, Secretary, Treasurer, must also be financial members of our governing body, the New Zealand Society of Genealogists (NZSG).
Committee members however may not necessarily belong to the NZSG as well, as long as the total composition of the committee comprises at least 50% who are members of the NZSG
Our 2018/19 financial year starts 1st April 2018, with the subscription remaining at $25 for the year.
Those wishing to renew their membership may pay by internet banking to our bank account

Please put your surname/membership number in the fields available so that your payment can be identified.
If you also belong to the NZ Society of Genealogists, please also provide your NZSG number.
Payments may also be made by cheque, payable to Kapiti Genealogy, and posted to
P O Box 703
or handed to a committee member at a meeting.
Allow time for the new (blue) card to be delivered.
The 2017/18 cream card remains valid for a while yet – notification of its withdrawal will be in the newsletter in May.

If by any chance when you log in you end up on a page that’s nothing like the website and possibly says “Dashboard” over on the lhs,
It’s this bit over on the left hand side
using either your assigned Username, or the Email address we have on file for you – ie where we sent your last newsletter to.
Once logged in go to the Membership tab
then Members Only
then Your profile
Scroll down to the field headed Email and enter your new email address
Ditto in the next field labelled Retype Email to verify it.
Scroll down and click Update
Despite what we’ve said in our July newsletter, there will NOT be an Australian Interest Group meeting in August
Normal service will resume in September
We are delighted to let you know that the He Tohu exhibition is officially opening this week, and on Saturday 20 May there will be a Whanau Day to which you are all invited. The National Library and Archives NZ will run a programme of family-friendly events from 10am to 4pm. Included will be exhibition tours, presentations, craft activities, roaming performers, cultural performances, and the Amazing Travelling Photo Booth. Please note that the National Library building will be closed all day on May 19, as we prepare to open He Tohu. This includes the Turnbull reading rooms, the galleries, and HOME café. Our online services will be available.
